Description
The successful candidate will be part of Point Carbon News' 12-strong global editorial team. The role is to provide news on a daily basis to our subscribers on the various different policy developments across Latin America that involve capping emissions. News will primarily be distributed through www.pointcarbon.com, Thomson Reuters Analytics services and may be published to the Thomson Reuters wider file.
Responsibilities
Report on news and developments on Latin American and global emission markets and policy. Contribute to a daily newsletter on emission market developments in both North and South Americas. Provide cover for Point Carbon's San Francisco-based journalist, whose main tasks involve writing about the Californian carbon markets and providing weekly and daily price assessments. Edit colleagues news stories, and provide features for Point Carbon's monthly glossy magazine - Trading Carbon.
Required skills
Highly numerate, the successful candidate must have at least three year's experience of writing news in English on political developments or on energy or commodity markets. Ideally he or she would be fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish as well as able to provide clean tight copy in English.
Knowledge of energy markets and climate change negotiations would be advantageous.
