Key Responsibilities

  • Works with regional management/marketing to formulate PR/communications initiatives aligned to business goals.
  • Recommends and implements initiatives that improve the public’s perception of the company.
  • Manages relationships with PR vendors.
  • Organizes, coordinates and implements special projects/events in support of public relations and local marketing initiatives.
  • Outlines, edits and prepares media material such as press releases, talking points, case studies, statements, Q&A, and social media content to promote and protect the company’s image and support the corporate strategy.
  • Executes PR programs within budget.
  • Monitors the media environment daily and manages the proactive and reactive media needs of the company.
  • Assists Analyst Relations as needed to implement local initiatives.
Key Qualifications
  • A college or advanced degree in communications, journalism, marketing or business is preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of related public relations experience.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity and facility with social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good negotiation, facilitation and diplomatic skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced global team environment.
Summary/Purpose:

Responsible for directing and managing public relations (PR) for all of Latin America with external PR agencies. Work with regional management and business unit leaders to develop and implement external communications programs that advance the company’s business goals and promote Unisys people, programs, offerings, and reputation in the region.

Create overall public relations strategy for the region; determining strategies and tactics; managing budget; selecting, procuring, and managing outside PR agencies; defining media targets and working with the news media; managing agencies and their activities; writing releases, pitches, bylined articles, talking points, and other media materials; managing external websites; ensuring consistency with overall corporate messages; and handling local crises and issues management.
