Role Summary/Purpose:

This is a key role in developing a robust communication strategy for GE Oil and Gas.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing and implementing a regional communication strategy that coherently promotes, protects and positions the GE brand in the energy sector/Oil & Gas sector
  • Advocate for the company’s position with external stakeholders
  • Connect employees with business goals and values
  • Position our products and services across Latin American region
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Lead, coordinate and supervise the implementation of the business communication strategy, including all internal and external communication activities related to GE Oil & Gas across all stakeholders
  • Integrate the P&L communication efforts and strategy within GE Energy broader scope in Latin America and globally (supporting the axis: P&Ls-COEs-Region)
  • Ensure the good performance and quality of service provided by the existing PR Agencies in and/or other specialized communication suppliers across the regions
  • Manage regional communications budget and conduct monthly/quarterly monitoring and reporting
  • Ensure all communication processes controls and guidelines are followed by the team, business and leaders
  • Identify and develop 360 degree story telling opportunities and enhance the capabilities of the existing business spokespersons (and develop new ones as needed) for executive positioning
  • Strengthen market, news and trend and media analysis, continuously evaluating the business digital/interactive communicational environment, specifically related to the responsibility of the area (web 2.0 initiatives among those)
  • Measurement: Develop metric processes to ensure progress vs. goals
  • Create and develop a net-work of third party advocates and validators of GE Energy O&G and the communication goals and build dialogue with these
  • Relationship management with country CEOs and business leaders
  • Ensure all communication activities performs according to Compliance standards
  • Supervision of all needs and processes related to crisis communication management and act as a support on media relations for Global Communications team
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations or Journalism preferred
  • At least 10 years of professional international communications experience
  • Fluent English
