GERENTE DE PRODUTO (FILMES)

Role Purpose:

The Product Manager is responsible for execution of the marketing strategies for the Film products by implementing internal and external activities in order to assist the sales organization in maximizing sales growth and profit contribution. Works closely with business development managers to identify and evaluate opportunities and sales staff to convert leads into sales.

REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Strategy and Implementation
  • Prepare product and strategy development plans, which clearly establish product positioning versus competitive products, product development direction, product service programs, pricing guidelines, and profitability targets. Identify, define, select and prioritize market opportunities. Develop strategies for new market penetration.
  • Develop market knowledge to understand trends and opportunities in product technology.
  • Prepare strategic marketing plans. Development and introduction of new and up-dated products via the business teams to the Sales organization and our customers.
  • Generate and maintain analysis of the market with a focus on market trends, market size, competitive solutions and positioning, market share and customer needs for the product portfolio.
Product Launches and Support
  • Support and/or lead new product development and technical service efforts.
  • Conduct competitive product assessments and develop new product or product positioning strategies to compete.
  • Manage and lead an implementation team in order to organize the internal and external activities necessary for a smooth introduction of new products.
  • Initiate and manage communication and promotion campaigns (i.e. product/segments literature, trade shows, brochures, PR in magazines, internal/external newsletters, sales actions, swatches, etc.)
  • Develop a pipeline of growth opportunities using the horizons methodologies. (H1/H2/H3)
  • Serve as the Marketing representative on new product teams. Oversee the completion of all marketing deliverables, including pricing, analysis and documentation.
  • Drive product launches with communication and training. Ensure that new products are introduced professionally, with appropriate positioning, pricing, sales materials, promotions and accompanying services.
Relationships
  • Establish and maintain in close co-operation with the Market Manager a successful long term product strategy to achieve required sales value and margins along with the objectives (manage product life cycle).
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to identify new and improved component initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Market Manager and Communications Manager all product market communication materials.
  • Pursue, develop and support internal and external business partnerships and marketing agreements work with sales and service teams to develop sales channels.
  • Model and promote the corporation’s code of business ethics.
Growing the Business
  • Grow the business by developing and introducing new and up-graded products for the market in order to meet market needs.
  • Lead development of new products and manage implementation process in coordination with Production, Logistics, Purchasing and R&D.
  • Develop and conduct product training for internal and external customers.
  • Define and drive short and mid-term product plans and longer term product roadmaps. Ensure that products under development meet market needs and fulfill company objectives.
  • Use effective negotiation skills, work to achieve project outcomes around issue, scope schedule and resource constraints.
  • Define tactics and deliverables for a 1 year timeframe.
Position Requirements: Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years business experience, including sales and marketing, desired.
  • Experience with product development and product commercialization processes.
  • Must be able to champion new business ventures.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
  • Possesses leadership, mentoring, training and project management experience and skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational, people and project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer focus and orientation.
  • Six Sigma or Black Belt a plus.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Prior experience in Plastic, Films or related business a plus
  • Understanding and knowledge of the printing industry a plus
