The Corporate Communications Manager for Latin America is responsible for communicating Newell Rubbermaid's vision, strategy and key initiatives to employees, news media, local communities, and other stakeholders in the company's Latin America region. This position is based in our Sao Paulo, Brazil, regional headquarters and reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, with a dotted line to the Vice President of Human Resources for Latin America.

Outstanding communications skills and professional presence are expected. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required, with fluency in Spanish highly desired. Up to 30 percent travel is required to our facilities across the Latin America region and other global business locations.

The Corporate Communications Manager for Latin America has a high degree of interaction with senior management and must be adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment while supporting multiple projects at the same time. The candidate should be able to collaborate across businesses and regions, and must have the ability to develop and execute communications programs to support the company's business goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage an employee communications program to increase engagement and create a strong Newell Rubbermaid Latin America employee community.
  • Serve as the company spokesperson and ambassador in the region as needed.
  • Write and publish a regional employee newsletter with people and business success stories.
  • Maintain the company's employee intranet content for Latin America.
  • Build strong relationships with the company's key business leaders across the region.
  • Manage consultants, translation vendors and other partners as needed.
  • Monitor and measure effectiveness of communications activities, report results, and take steps for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of a best-in-class global communications function.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Maintains confidentiality and acts with the highest standards of ethical and professional values
  • Works independently in a fast-paced, changing environment with a multitude of different tasks
  • Strong drive for results
  • Demonstrated research and strategic planning ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
